BORN-AGAIN WINDOWS
Some windows have been found to be in such poor shape that it is not possible to put them back to "good repair".
When this happens they are taken out of their frames and completely taken apart.
The remaining glass is cleaned, missing glass is replaced with the appropriate new glass. (Yes, some glass patterns are still being made after a hundred or more years) The window is then rebuilt with new lead came, or by the copper-foil method using solder instead of came. (Which makes it stronger and stiffer) The windows are then returned to their original frames whenever possible. They are now - Born-Again.
